Business Centre Project

The commune of Saint Martin has launched a project to refurbish an old hotel at the heart of the village, in order to maintain and develop the local economic fabric. The Vercors Community of Communes will be overseeing the project and underwriting the costs.

The aim of the centre is to house micro enterprises, commercial businesses and accommodation in the same building : a local business will occupy the ground floor, there will be thirteen offices on the first floor and three flats on the second floor. Around a dozen business have already expressed an interest, so only a few offices are still vacant! All involved understand the value of working together as a unit, so as to derive benefit from the synergy created and the strong impact of this manifestation of the image of the Park.

Services such as reception and telephone switchboard will be communal, as will be the marketing of goods and services. Under consideration are secretarial services, FAX, photocopying, automatic call forwarding, management of diaries and provision of conference facilities. These brand new offices will benefit from provision of the latest electronic equipment.

Fixed Aid Route(Via Cordata) and Climbing

Definition
A via cordata is a route on a cliff, making use of via ferrata-type fixed aids, such as stemples, rungs and handrails on difficult sections. Security is not guaranteed by a cable, but necessitates the use of a rope and climbing safety techniques. A hanger/carabiner system has been permanently installed throughout the route.

The rock is sound, vertical and there are few ledges. The route includes numerous methods of progression, so that it comes close to a modern French via ferrata. The route could be classified as both sporting and environmentally friendly.

Restaurant scolaire : prévision juin 2003

Depuis 2000, l'afflux de nouvelles familles nous a obligé à agrandir l'école et à mettre en place un réel service de cantine au quotidien, assuré par le centre de vacances FOL du Rhône La Matrassière, à St Julien en Vercors. Actuellement, ce service fonctionne tous les jours, grâce à la navette du Conseil Général. Or, le Département nous a informé de sa volonté de supprimer progressivement sur 4 ans sa participation financière à la navette de midi. Après négociations, il a été obtenu que le Département continue de prendre en charge 100% du coût des trajets de midi jusqu'en 2004. Pour la rentrée 2004, ces trajets seront supprimés, car les communes ne pourront en supporter le coût.

Face à cette échéance et face à la pression des familles, la seule solution est la création d'une cantine sur le lieu même de l'école. Il a été choisi d'aggrandir la salle des fêtes communale attenante, au même niveau que celle-ci et donc en étage par rapport au niveau de la cour de récréation. L'extension serait en relation directe avec la salle des fêtes (percement d'une grande ouverture dans la façade) et possèderait une grande ouverture vitrée donnant sur la vallée. Un accès direct avec la cour d'école serait créé par un escalier couvert.
La salle des fêtes peut servir d'espace de jeux pour les enfants en cas d'intempéries. Les parties salle des fêtes et restaurant scolaires seront séparées par des portes coulissantes en bois.
